HAYDON Bridge High School's historic boarding wing has gone up for sale at a price of £1.6m.
Ridley Hall, at Bardon Mill, has been used to accommodate long-distance pupils at the school since the mid 1970s.
Estate agent Strutt & Parker has announced via the rightmove.co.uk website that the 25-bedroom house and its grounds have been put on the market by the family which owns it.
It is not yet known what arrangements are in place for the 25 school boarders who are currently accommodated at Ridley Hall.
Haydon Bridge High Schools looks set to become a sponsored academy under the direction of the Bright Tribe multi-academy trust.
Last week Bright Tribe indicated it was unwilling to continue the school's existing lease arrangement for the use of Ridley Hall.
