HEXHAM'S MP Guy Opperman has kept his place in the ministerial ranks after the sweeping changes brought in by new Prime Minister Theresa May.
Mr Opperman remains as a member of the Government's whips office, challenged with helping to keep together his party's slim House of Commons majority.
He will report to Chief Whip Gavin Williamson. He replaces Mark Harper, who has been in the post for the past year.
On Twitter, Mr Opperman said there were big challenges, opportunities and work ahead.
