HAYDON Bridge’s football field is being transformed into a haven for music and ale lovers this weekend – all in the name of worthy causes.

The Haydon Bridge Festival will take place tomorrow, at Haydon Bridge United’s Low Hall Park ground.

An action-packed afternoon and evening will include music from Jill Wilkinson, The Tyne Valley Big Band, Pikey Beatz, Positive Vibes Choir, Blind Buffalo, The Promise, and The Streetmartins.

Real ale will be supplied by Allendale Brewery, High House Brewery Farm and the Big Lamp Brewery, while wine and soft drinks will also be available.

The festival will raise money for Haydon Bridge United Football Club’s defibrillator fund.

The club is keen to purchase a defibrillator for Low Hall Park.

The Stay Strong Stu campaign, set up after North Tyne rugby player Stuart Ridley was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour; and the Cure Parkinson’s Trust, will also benefit.
