POLICE have named a man who died following a serious crash on the A66 in Cumbria.
Jamie Armstrong (30), from Haltwhistle, was driving an Audi A4, which was in collision with an HGV. He died at the scene.
It happened at 5.22am on Thursday on the A66 at Brough, near to the Stainmore Cafe.
Police said Mr Armstrong's family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver of the HGV was not injured.
The eastbound carriageway was closed all morning as a result of the crash and accident investigation and recovery work was carried out.
