POLICE and fire crews were called to Bellingham on Tuesday night after a girl fell into the Hareshaw Burn.
It is understood the 13-year-old slipped after climbing over a bridge near the old police station to retrieve a coin she had dropped.
Firefighters from Bellingham and Rothbury were called to the scene at around 7.30pm and helped carry the teenager to safety.
She was taken to Newcastle RVI with a suspected broken ankle.
