YOUNG bookworms across Tynedale took on a reading challenge during the summer holidays.
Those who read at least six books, and visited their local library three times, received a medal and a certificate as part of the Animal Agents scheme.
The participating children were entered into a draw to win a trip to Kirkley Hall Zoo.
Eight-year-old Bea Bentley, from Haydon Bridge, was one of four children to take part in the visit.
