ELECTRICITY supplies have been restored in Haltwhistle after a near four-hour power cut early on Friday morning.
Power went off in 2,256 properties in Haltwhistle at 5.55am, according to Northern Powergrid, which operates the electrical distribution network.
By 8am, supplies had been restored in 1,350 of affected properties, and power had returned to all homes and businesses by 9.45am.
A spokesman for Northern Powergrid said power was re-routed from other parts of the network to ensure Haltwhistle was fully supplied as soon as possible.
An investigation is ongoing to establish what caused the disruption.
