COMMUNITY spirit is expected to pay off for another important charity as Great Whittington residents flock to their next fund-raiser.
Chris Bryce, who has lived in the village for eight years, has been holding fund-raising events along with his partner Carole Cardy-Brown for a number of years.
They are planning their next fund-raiser for Friday, August 4, where North-East guitarist Russ Tippins will provide entertainment and there will be nibbles and a licensed bar in the village hall.
“Myself and my partner Carole have been fundraising for a number of years both at the village hall but also other venues,” explained Chris.
“We have mainly raised money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust – my daughter and two grandchildren have this terrible disease.
“After 10 years we decided to fund-raise for other worthy causes, the last one being for a defibrillator for Great Whittington village, which we managed with the help of a Halloween ceilidh at the village hall.
“We decided to go with Breast Cancer Now! because we have family members and friends who have had or still have the disease.”
Doors open at 7pm and tickets can be purchased by contacting Chris on (01434) 672725 or 07960981721.
