Parking space is currently limited at the facility, which is used by a playgroup, and several local organsiations.
At a meeting of Haydon Parish Council on November 24, county councillor Alan Sharp suggested that a small car park could be created on a grassed area at the back of the building.
Coun. Sharp said he had spoken to Isos Housing, which owns the land.
He explained: “I don’t think Isos has a use for that land, so we’re looking into whether it could be made into a car park, which would accommodate about 11 cars.”
Coun. Sharp said he was willing to support the scheme financially out of his county council member’s allowance.
