THE wonder horse part-owned by a Haltwhistle couple has struck gold in one of the top races in the country.
Having won the Chester Cup in May, four-year-old gelding Trip to Paris stormed to victory in the prestigious Ascot Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last week.
Ecstatic owners Malcolm and Maxine Franklin, owners of the Agma Chemicals factory in Haltwhistle, bought a 25 per cent share in Trip To Paris as a two-year-old.
They are now eying a possible trip to Australia in November when Trip to Paris could be running in one of the world‘s greatest races, the Melbourne Cup.
