NORTHUMBERLAND Youth Offending Service has been recognised for its outstanding work to improve the life chances of young people who offend.

The service received a commendation at the 2016 North Eastern Prison After Care Society (NEPACS) which celebrates the efforts of North-East based professionals working with offenders who receive custodial sentences. The Northumberland Youth Offending Service supports young people planning for their release by building in them self belief, securing accommodation, work or education and positive family relationships.

Northumberland County Councillor Robert Arckless, cabinet member for children’s services said: “Attaining this recognition is a great achievement.”
