THE new High Sheriff of Northumberland has been installed.
Lucia Bridgeman, from Alnwick, was officially installed as High Sheriff for 2024/2025 in a ceremony on April 6 at Holy Trinity Church, Embleton.
The appointment brings with it a 12-month honorary term and the honour of holding the oldest Royal Appointment in the country.
The appointment is made by the King, on the advice of a panel drawn from across Northumberland.
The remit of High Sheriff traditionally includes supporting judges, magistrates, law and order organisations, and emergency services.
The High Sheriff also supports charities and organisations working with young people.
In attendance at the ceremony were Harry Chrisp, Under Sheriff of Northumberland along with His Honour Judge Paul Sloan KC and The Honorary Recorder of Newcastle upon Tyne, who presided over the Installation Ceremony.
Win Clayton JP witnessed the Declaration.
