A WOMAN was hospitalised with non-serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Northumberland.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision at the cross-road junction with Capheaton just after 11 pm on Friday, March 15.

After arriving at the scene, Police closed the road to remove debris and to recover the vehicles.

The road was later reopened, and one woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A telegraph post was also damaged in the collision.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At around 11.15pm on Friday, March 15, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the cross road junction with Capheaton in Northumberland.

“Emergency services attended the scene and a woman was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. A nearby telegraph post had also been damaged during the collision.

“The road was temporarily blocked to allow for debris to be cleared and vehicles to be uplifted but later re-opened.” 

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision in Capheaton at 11.20pm on 15 March.

"We dispatched a community paramedic and an ambulance crew, and transported one patient to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital for further treatment."
