Members of the public are being called to voice their opinions on North East bus services.

The initiative, Moving Buses Forward, aims to inform the delivery of key bus enhancements using funds from the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP).

Public insights will contribute to refreshing the BSIP, which brought £165.3m to the region in 2022 for improvements including lower fares and improved services.

The Moving Buses Forward survey, taking under five minutes to fill out, offers a chance at winning one of two month-long travel passes which cover County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Northumberland.

Transport North East is also scheduled to host live events for public feedback this April.

Cllr Martin Gannon, chair of the North East Joint Transport Committee, said: "Buses are a critical part of the North East transport network and still remain to be the most used form of public transport in the region.

“It’s important that we continue to improve the bus network as we look forward to the new North East Combined Authority which will be created in May. For now, you can help to shape the refreshed BSIP.”
