As the Easter holidays approach, we rounded up some of the fun things to enjoy across Northumberland.

An Easter party at the Torch Centre, Hexham will take place on April 6 from 7pm-9pm. Tickets cost £3 per person which includes a buffet.

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens has Grecian-inspired architecture to marvel at along with vast 30-acre Grade I listed gardens.

The Quarry Garden has its own microclimate which means all sorts of exotic plants grow here, while for the younger audience, the Wild Man play area features towering climbing frames, a winding slide, swings and lots more to explore.

An Easter Beer and Food Festival, at The Feathers Inn, Hedley-on-the-Hill, will be held from March 29 until April 1. Enjoy barbeques, a barrel race, beer and more across the whole festival.

Chester's Roman Fort and Museum, the most complete Roman cavalry fort in Britain, is located in Chollerford and has just opened a new exhibition containing more than 200 shell specimens, including an extinct species and several believed to have been sent back from Captain Cook’s ill-fated third voyage.

This is the first time the collection has been displayed for more than a century.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is hosting various events at five of its nature reserves over Easter. Easter crafting will take place at Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre on March 22 or canine companions can join the fun with the Good Friday Doggy Wagtastic Easter Meet-Up at Weetslade Country Park from March 30 to April 14.

Easter fun at Brocksbushes Farm shop and Tea Room, Corbridge, involves a kid's fun zone, the business Alpaca Encounters and more Easter activities from March 28 until April 14.
