This week, we decided to treat ourselves to a 'chippy' lunch at one of Tynedale's popular fish and chip shops. This is what we thought.

Walking down Priestpopple, our stomachs growled at the delicious smell of fish and chips; soon, we arrived at the door of Hexham Fish Bar.

We must have arrived just after the lunchtime rush, as we were immediately served, and there was only one group of people sitting down. One other customer ordered a 'cowboy special'.

We decided to take our food away with little time on our lunch break.

We ordered chips and gravy with a bottled Coke, chicken chunks, and chips with garlic mayo.

After running back up the hill and back to the office - we were delighted to find our food was piping hot.

The food tasted fresh and must have been made seconds before we ordered it. The gravy was deliciously thick but did not drown the chips like a soup.

Despite the deliciousness of chips and chicken chunks, we found the portion size too big to finish in one go and had to put it to one side.

But overall, we found that we really enjoyed the meal and would gladly be back again!
