A SHOP has announced its opening date of its new relocated site.

Tynedale Hospice at Home will be opening their new shop on 35-37 Fore Street to the public on Thursday March 21 at 11 am.

The new site will occupy the empty unit that was previously owned by M&Co.

Tynedale Hospice at Home, which already operates five shops in Tynedale and Ponteland,  announced the relocation of the shop in November.

Charlotte Pearson, Tynedale Hospice at Home interim CEO adds: “Our retail arm is an important way for us to raise the necessary revenue to fund our high-quality services such as at home end of life nursing care, patient transport, complementary therapy and bereavement support.  We are incredibly grateful for everyone who volunteers, shops or donates to our local charity”

The new site marks a move from the charity’s Battle Hill premises which the Hospice has traded from for over 25 years.

Retail Operations Manager for the charity, Ashleigh Trotter, explains:“This new shop was too good an opportunity to miss. The Battle Hill site has served us well but the building is on multiple levels and in need of repair.

"This new unit is approximately twice the size and almost all on one level with better lighting. This makes it a far more appealing and easier place to shop, especially for those with mobility issues or with a pram.”

“We’ve had the opportunity to relook at our presentation and we are thrilled with the new look which has ample space to display menswear, occasionwear, womenswear and childrenswear, clothing and home accessories and lots of toys and games.

"There’s also a number of fitting rooms so you can try before you buy. We’re excited to see what people think when we open next week.”

The store will be officially opened  by local resident Ray Sherwood whose husband Peter was cared for by the Hospice allowing him to enjoy a quality of life at home throughout the later stages of his life.

"It is anticipated that there will be significant interest in the opening day from local shoppers, volunteers and supporters of the charity.

"The store hopes to build on the success of Battle Hill and quickly establish itself as a sustainable, ethical and most of all economical place to shop, alongside a diverse range of businesses on Fore Street.
