A PROPOSAL to demolish a bungalow and build two detached homes has been submitted to the county council.

Mr Kohli of Western Way, Darras Hall, Ponteland, submitted an application to demolish an existing bungalow and garage and build two new houses on separate plots to Northumberland County Council.

More car parking was proposed for the development which currently has four parking spaces. It will be increased to seven spaces.

A statement submitted with the application said: "The site is a residential bungalow with a very large building footprint and a detached double garage. The site is surrounded by a very large garden area predominantly a large lawn surrounded by a range of bordered high trees predominantly cypress.

"The front of the property is a hard-surfaced access drive. The site was greenfield from 1858 until the late 1970s after which the building as we see it today was constructed.

"The development area is set in a residential setting with residential properties north, east, south and west," it added.

The existing road access will be retained. The application also proposes for certain trees to be pruned or removed when required.
