We look back on the many years of Tynedale's annual Boxing Day hunts.
Tynedale Hunt – pronounced Tindle to reflect the original spelling of the district at the time the hunt was created – meet in different areas of Northumberland to continue the tradition every year.
The hunt, which was formed in 1839 and is based at kennels on Stagshaw bank, continues to be popular despite the fox hunting ban in 2005, and its activities conform to the law through trail hunts.
The group remains committed to safeguarding the traditions of hunting and the hounds.
Thousands of residents each year are always out in force to see the hunt off, as they also enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.
Riders and hounds also met with the public before riding off down Hill Street, on a trail hunt through the surrounding countryside.
