A CHINESE takeaway has received a zero food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency.
Lucky Palace, a takeaway on Main Street in Haltwhistle, received a zero food hygiene rating - according to the Food Standards Agency website on July 11.
Hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building and management of food safety were all rated as needing major improvement.
A spokesperson from Lucky Palace said they were addressing the issue by hiring a reliable and professional cleaning service to deep clean the facilities.
A spokesperson from Northumberland County Council’s environmental health team added: “We carried out an inspection of this premises in July and it achieved a low food hygiene rating.
“Since then, we have been working closely with the business to improve standards and there has been some marked improvements at the premises to bring it back into food hygiene compliance.”
