Over 18,000 positive cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Northumberland since the coronavirus pandemic began last March.

In the latest daily statistics released by the government, a total of 18,037 cases of coronavirus have now been confirmed in the region over the course of the last 14 months.

The statistics also show that 67 cases have been confirmed in the county over the latest 24-hour period.

Also in our area, three wards make Northumberland County Council’s currently worse affected list.

Corbridge currently has eight positive cases of Covid-19 that have been confirmed within the latest seven-day period, while Prudhoe South – with six cases – and Prudhoe North – with five cases – also feature on the list.

Stocksfield and Broomhaugh, who did have five cases of Covid-19 according to yesterday’s stats, now no longer feature on the worse affected list.

Anyone aged 25 and over is now being asked to book their first vaccine against Covid-19 if they are yet do so.
