MUSIC lovers will be in for a treat next year with the resurrection of Hexham Jazz Festival.

Hexham Rotary Club is already getting preparations under way for the festival, which will take place on May 15 and 16 next year in Hexham Abbey. A jazz festival used to take place in Hexham, but it ended in 1999. After deciding to bring it back to life, the club has managed to secure artists including Jo Harrop, Hot Club du Nord, Paul Edis and Graeme Wilson for the line-up.

Money raised through ticket sales will go towards fund-raising for a machine to help in cancer research carried out at Newcastle University, as well as to the Rotary’s Emergency and Disaster Fund, and other local good causes.
