SUPERMARKET chain Iceland has launched an urgent product recall after it emerged that bits of hard plastic may be in one of its chicken products.
The retailer is urging any customers who may have bought a pack of their own brand 60 Crispy Chicken Dippers to return them to the store immediately.
All products with a best before date prior to January 9, 2021 are affected.
New stock with the date code of January 9, 2021 or later are not included in the recall.
A spokesman from the Food Standards Agency said: "Iceland is recalling 60 Crispy Chicken Dippers as some packs may contain pieces of hard plastic. The presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to eat.
"If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it.
"Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
