TYNEDALE businesses are well-represented in this year’s North East England Tourism Awards.

The shortlist for the prestigious industry awards were announced last week, with 35 of the 57 nominees coming from Northumberland.

In Tynedale, Langley Castle has been nominated for hotel of the year and the Barrasford Arms, Lord Crewe Arms and William de De Percy, were all nominated for boutique guest accommodation of the year.

Brown Rigg Lodges in Bellingham, St Oswald’s Farm at Chollerford and Woodside Lodge in Hexhamshire have been nominated for self-catering holiday provider of the year.

The Twice Brewed and Barrasford Arms were nominated for tourism pub of the year.

South Tyne Railway has been nominated as dog friendly business of the year.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, November 21, at the Civic Centre in Newcastle.

Coun. Cath Homer, cabinet member for culture, arts and leisure at Northumberland County Council, said: “This is absolutely fantastic news for Northumberland and demonstrates the quality and breadth of what is on offer in our county.”
