COMMUNITY groups and businesses in Prudhoe are coming together to make the town more dementia friendly.
The town is working with the Alzheimer’s Society to become a dementia friendly town – an initiative supported by the society where communities work to ensure people with dementia are supported, understood and respected, and made to feel included and involved.
The news was announced this week, and more businesses and groups will be encouraged to get involved as the scheme unfolds.
Coun. Gordon Stewart, county councillor for Prudhoe South, said: “This will support the whole community and be a welcome relief and reassurance for many families.”
