A MAN accused of robbing a Hexham newsagents has appeared in court.
Garry William Addison (36), who gave his address as St Helen's Gate, Hexham, appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 11, charged with robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of assaulting a police officer relating to an incident at Peggs News, in Priestpopple, on Tuesday, October 9.
No pleas were entered during the hearing, and the case was sent to Newcastle Crown Court on Thursday, November 8.
