A HEXHAM business is enjoying a new level of success after it moved to a new location.
Until recently, Molly Moo’s ice cream parlour could be found tucked away on Hallstile Bank.
But, following the closure of Tea at Blandings on Cattle Market, the much-loved parlour has found a new home – and with it, a new, expanded menu.
Owner Lorraine Whitfield, who took over the business last year, said business had been good since the move.
She said: “It’s been busy, it’s a better location and it’s much more accessible for people.
“We bought Molly Moo’s about a year ago and expanded the menu in June.
“Because we’d expanded the menu, we got some new customers and it was quite busy; there were less places to sit.
“So we thought it would be good to expand the menu again and create something that we thought was missing in Hexham.”
The family-friendly store now serves everything from eggy bread and porridge to jacket potatoes and coffee, and has proved popular with customers of all ages.
Lorraine added: “We want everybody to feel comfortable.
“We get a mix of people because there’s always been a cafe here. People tend to just come in, so we’re getting a lot of new customers in.
“We’re still just as much of an ice cream parlour, so we do a lot of that, but it’s nice to have people coming in.”
Business is so good that Lorraine is currently considering adding to her staff team.
