POLICE are appealing for information following a crash on the A695 near Prudhoe that killed two people.

The crash between a motorcycle and silver Honda took place on the Prudhoe bypass section of the road on Saturday, October 6.

The rider of the motorcycle died at the scene, while the driver of the car was taken to the RVI in Newcastle by air ambulance, but later died of his injuries.

A passenger in the car was also taken to the RVI, but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on the A695 at Prudhoe on Saturday, October 6.

"The collision, which involved a motorbike and a silver Honda, happened on the Prudhoe Bypass section of the A695,  at around 11.57 am.

"Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended but sadly the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The male driver of the Honda was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where he sadly died as a result of his injuries.

"A male front seat passenger from the Honda was also taken to the RVI where he is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.  

"Specially-trained officers are currently supporting the families of all those involved through this difficult time.

"We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who was in the area and might have dash cam footage to contact us on either 101 or 3098@northumbria.pnn.police.uk quoting log 476 06/10/18."
