VISITORS at a popular Wylam pub fell victim to thieves at the weekend after two bikes were stolen from outside.

The Boathouse shared the news on its Facebook account and thanked the man who took the couple home whose bikes had been stolen.

Police said they received a report that the two bikes, worth £600, were stolen from outside the pub at 11.55am.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman added: "Enquiries are ongoing to locate the offender and the bikes and anyone who thinks they might have information about this incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 556 of 290918."
