A PUBLIC meeting is being held to assist a schools adjudicator in reaching his decision on the proposed closure of Bellingham Middle School.

The purpose of this meeting is to listen to the views of local parents and carers affected by the proposal.

The Adjudicator will be considering afresh the proposal to close Bellingham Middle School and decide whether to reject the proposal to close the school, approve the proposal or approve the proposal with modifications.

The local authority’s proposal to close Bellingham Middle School was published together with a number of other proposals to enlarge the premises and/or increase the age range of a number of other schools in the area.

The Adjudicator will not be reconsidering the local authority’s decisions in relation to the enlargement and age range proposals.

The public meeting will take place at Bellingham Middle School on Friday, October 12 at 5pm.
