A SCHOOLGIRL has sacrificed 10-inches of her long blonde hair to help other people in need.

Lacey Hedley (5) of Bardon Mill, will donate her plaited locks to the Little Princess Trust, which provides wigs for children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer.

She underwent the chop on Saturday (Sep 22) at Keo's Hair Studio in St Mary's Chare, Hexham.

Mum Holly Henderson said: "Lacey did this because she had seen a video of another girl having her hair cut for the charity, and it led to her asking lots of questions about cancer.

"Lacey immediately decided that she wanted to do her bit, in the full knowledge that her hair will be used to help other children and young people."

The Henshaw Primary School pupil is also raising money for the Little Princess Trust, and her fund-raising page has already raised more than £150.
