A PYTHON was spotted in Corbridge on Tuesday.
Thankfully, the python in question was not of the slivery variety, but was in fact former Monty Python star Michael Palin.
The actor and travel writer was in the village to sign copies of his latest book, 'Erebus: The Story of a Ship'.
The book follows the story of HMS Erebus, a bomb vessel that disappeared in 1826 and remained lost until 2014, when it was discovered in the Canadian Artic.
The signing took place at Fourm Books in Corbridge, and owner Helen Stanton was delighted that the much-loved star came to visit.
She said: "It was fantastic, he was absolutely fabulous.
"I couldn't quite believe that he came to Corbridge to visit us.
"He loved Northumberland, we took him to The Rat for lunch. We thought we would show him the best of what we've got."
