WORKERS at a Hexham-based drinks company have helped raise close to £50,000 for a children’s charity.
Company owner Eldon Robson and employee Ruaridh Atiken, of Fentimans, joined staff from Hanover Dairies, of Newcastle, to cycle more than 300 miles to raise funds for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
The team included Hanover Dairies’ founder Trevor Hanover, Michael Hanover and Paul Doran, and they cycled from Kielder Water to the trust’s headquarters in Surrey. A total of £45,976 was raised as a result of their efforts.
The cycle took seven days to complete and started with two laps of the 26-mile Lakeside Way around Kielder Water.
Hannah Petheram, of the Rainbow Trust, said: “The trust is extremely grateful to Hanover Diaries and the cycling team for raising this incredible sum of money.
“We would like to thank everyone that contributed to this charity fund-raiser and we appreciated the generosity extended to the trust by their customers.”
