THERE were fears that this year’s Newbrough produce show would fall victim to ‘minimal entry syndrome.’

But organisers needn’t have worried, as the exhibits on offer were labelled as superb.

Sylvia Richardson took home the award for most points from the bakery section, but she was closely pressed by Nick Springham, who took home the trophy for the best exhibit in the section for his Viennese biscuits.

Elsewhere, Hannah Bridges took home the best exhibit in the children’s classes for a fort created with fruit and vegetables, while Dianne Proctor’s blackcurrant-infused vodka was labelled as the best entry in the craft section.

It was also a successful show for married couple David and Vicki Curry - Vicki took home the trophy for the most points in the flower classes and best exhibit, while David took home the corresponding awards in the vegetable classes.
