GVA, the UK’s largest professional consultancy outside of London, has made two new senior appointments within its valuation services and land and development teams in Newcastle.

Rob Gordon, who now lives near Allendale, has been appointed as a director to head up the valuation team, after joining the company from Jones Lang LaSalle in Leeds.

He brings 20 years valuation expertise of commercial and residential property throughout the North-East, including loan security and asset appraisal for banks, financial institutions, investors, developers and operational businesses.

The position is effectively a return home for Rob, who grew up on a farm in Hexhamshire, and attended Queen Elizabeth High School and Liverpool John Moores University, before qualifying as a chartered surveyor in 2001.

James Atkinson, from Heaton, has also been appointed as an associate within the land and development team.

He joins following a 13-year career with Adderstone Group where he rose to the position of development director after holding various positions dealing with estate management, property management and development projects.

Gordon Hewling, regional senior director and head of building at GVA, Newcastle said: “These are further key appointments within our valuation, and land and development teams.

“The office holds a strong position in the market, providing strategic real estate advice to both the public and private sectors.

“Rob and James bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise which will strengthen our advisory capacity within the valuation and land and development sectors across the North-East region.”
