HUNDREDS of people turned out to the 12th annual Redefest last weekend.

Organisers praised the good weather and activities on offer as around 650 people attended the two-day festival in Rochester.

Redefest is a non-profit, volunteer-run music festival boasting over 12 hours of live music, children’s activities, local food, real ale and workshops for adults and children.

Two stages, the main and bar stages, hosted live music, poetry, storytelling and comedy on Friday and Saturday.

Organiser Red Kellie praised everyone involved with the festival. “The Friday night was a lovely atmosphere to start the weekend, with bands and an open mic session.”

Saturday saw dozens take part in workshops as Simon Wood taught festival-goers how to play the hang drum and Ian K. Brown invited children and adults to play the ukulele.

“It gets a little bit easier every year, and the weather and new areas made it logistically a lot more accessible,” Red Kellie added.

“We’re moving on to bigger and better things every year. The new camping area worked really well, and we’re now a proper established festival on the map.”
