Currently on a national tour, the show is a blend of dance, original live music and storytelling devised and performed by the four core members of the troupe.
The narrative follows one day in the lives of each character in turn and, as the audience sharp discovers, not all goes according to plan.
The underlying theme is one of identity, and indeed individuality, and the way people deal with the curve-ball they are thrown.
One of four, Kat Gill, said: “Blink is pushing the boundaries of inclusive theatre by exploring identity against a backdrop of vibrant colours, bespoke beats and soundscapes.
“We’re taking the show up and down the country, from Northumberland to Cornwall, and it’s going well - we’ve got community workshops running alongside the production too.”
Many of the accompanying workshops are for people with learning disabilities, with whom the theme and vibrancy of the production resonate.
Hexham’s own Priory School and the Gateway into the Community charity will be just two of those to benefit. They will also enjoy a matinee performance reserved for the workshop groups.
