The Bank Holiday event attracted huge crowds, with a lot of attention fixed on the gruelling tug of war competition.
The Adam and Eve A-team cruised through the elimination rounds and easily won the final.
The team’s triumph was due in no small measure to anchor man Steven Harrison.
His 28-stone frame proved decisive as he stood firm with the rope wrapped round his considerable girth.
Rather nonchalantly, he tugged on the rope with one hand to help his teammates haul themselves to victory.
