What connects ancient Egypt to the Hexham Scaffolding Co? Well, it’s pretty tenuous, but ancient Egyptian history shows the first evidence of the use of scaffolding in construction projects Before any construction job can begin, scaffold erectors are one of the first, and most important tradesmen on site, ensuring that safe, compliant scaffolding is in place to support a work crew involved in construction, maintenance or repair of buildings, bridges and other structures. Scaffolds are widely used on site to get access to heights and areas that would be otherwise hard to reach safely.

Before the introduction of metal tubes in the early 1900’s, wooden branches or lengths of bamboo secured with hemp string were widely used as a method of scaffold construction.Nowadays, modern scaffolding is made of steel or aluminium tubes, joined together with….and it takes a skilled, competent and experienced scaffolding tradesman to do the job.
This is where Hexham Scaffolding Co comes in. Hexham Scaffolding Co provides full scaffolding services for projects involving working at height throughout the Tyne Valley and Northumberland.

Edward Stewart set up the Hexham Scaffolding Co in 2012 and now, after nearly seven years in the supply of safe scaffolding to satisfied tradesmen, contractors and domestic customers, he employs seven staff from the company’s premises in Hexham, which has expanded the business’ reach considerably.

Covering the Tyne Valley and Northumberland from Hexham and extending into adjoining counties and boroughs, Edward is particularly proud to have been involved with prominent community-based projects in his home town – including the refurbishment of the iconic Sele Park Bandstand by Hexham Town Council.

Sele Park Bandstand Due to the extensive refurbishment, the Sele Park Bandstand was temporarily removed and out of use for two Christmas festive periods. Whilst the work on the bandstand was being carried out, Hexham Scaffolding Co assisted Hexham Town Council with the temporary relocation of the town’s popular Christmas Lights Switch On event.
Roofed stages were erected at the front of Hexham Abbey in the heart of the town for the annual children’s evening performances, and a combined walkway provided for Santa, the mayor and local dignitaries.
Compliant, Responsive, Dependable During 2018, Edward and his teams were proud to be appointed by the main contractors to supply external scaffolding to facilitate the Queen Elizabeth High School’s major renovations – including the main front, assembly and sports halls.
This significant community project enabled extensive window and door glazing upgrades from single clear to triple glazed smoked units.

As well as the industrial construction and demolition applications, scaffold erection is also a safe and cost-effective option allowing tradesmen internal and external access for repairs, maintenance, renewal and decoration, of domestic home jobs – particularly for roofs, chimneys, gutters, stairs and other hard to reach areas. Hexham Scaffolding Co prioritises local staple custom and has attained an exemplary reputation for supply of domestic scaffolding to many homes throughout the area.
The company’s motto is “On time, every time”, and Edward lives this motto – recognising that for any working at height project to be carried out on time, the erection and subsequent dismantling of safe scaffolding is a critical part of the construction process and needs experienced, dependable scaffolders to carry out this important work.

With a solid reputation for reliability and dependability, the only way is up for Hexham Scaffolding Company .
