YOUNG people aged between 14 and 24 are being offered volunteering opportunities at libraries across Northumberland.

Volunteers are needed to help with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, which encourages children to enjoy reading over the summer holidays, and is this year dubbed the Big Friendly Read Summer Reading challenge.

Any young volunteers interested in gaining experience which will enhance C.Vs, university applications and can be accredited for Duke of Edinburgh or Arts Awards, are being encouraged to go to the information sessions.

The drop-in sessions will take place between 3.45pm and 5pm on Monday at Hexham Library and at the same times at Prudhoe Library on Wednesday, June 29.
