THE site medical director for the new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington has been appointed.
Dr Jeremy Rushmer rejoins Northumbria Healthcare Trust after a three-year secondment as medical director of North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust.
There, he was tasked with helping to turn around the failing trust put into special measures by the Care Quality Commission.
He will take up the role at Northumbria part-time from September and work closely with trust-wide medical directors David Evans and Dr Derek Thomson, as well as divisional medical director Dr Richard Curless.
Dr Rushmer will continue in his role as medical director at North Cumbria until a successor is found.
