A BUSY mum is planning an event in Hexham to help parents sell on pre-loved baby and toddler items.

Gemma Eddon launched Little Gems baby and toddler nearly new sales in August after realising how quickly her two sons; Archie (4) and Henry (2) grew out of clothes and toys.

“We were left with so many things which we’d really looked after and had plenty of life left in them, but I struggled to sell them on selling sites,” said Gemma, who currently lives in Gosforth but is hoping to relocate to Hexham next year.

“I found I was spending ages at home waiting for buyers to turn up and realised that giving people a platform to buy and sell face to face might be the answer.”

Her first event took place at Kingston Park Community Centre in Newcastle on Saturday and she has booked Tynedale Farmer Function Suite in Hexham for a sale on Saturday, November 19 between 10am and midday.

“My husband and I have family in Hexham so we know how popular the car boot fair is there and thought it would be a good place to try,” said Gemma, who also works part time at a legal firm in Newcastle.
