FROM aromatherapy on the go to a hot-stone massage on the sofa, or even a bespoke facial at your desk, a new Prudhoe takeaway has a very different menu on offer.

Charlotte Thomson’s new Takeaway Spa brings spa and wellness therapies to customers at home, in the workplace or even on holiday.

From her home in West Wylam, Prudhoe, Charlotte takes that touch of spa luxury to customers across Tynedale, wherever they may be.

And just months after launching her business, the 30-year-old is in the running to become the Professional Beauty Awards’ Therapist of the Year for 2017.

Charlotte qualified as a beauty therapist in 2003 and also has a degree in Business and Finance from the University of Wales Trinity St David.

She worked for a number of years in Johannesburg and trained in non-surgical aesthetics procedures, including skin peels, laser treatments and microneedling.

She moved back to the UK in 2014, settling in Hexham, and took a job at Hexham General Hospital whilst slowly building her beauty brand.

In January this year, Takeaway Spa was launched, featuring a wide selection of massage and body therapies, sports massage and organic facials using Neal’s Yard products.

In June, Charlotte, who lives in West Wylam with her 11-year-old twins Pandora and Alice, entered the Professional Beauty Awards contest.

And after being named one of six finalists, she travelled to London to be judged on her practical skills last month.

She won’t find out if she has been successful until the awards ceremony in London on February 26 next year.

Charlotte said: “It would mean the world to me to win, the judges have been in the industry for a very very long time.

“Even just being selected as a finalist feels like a milestone for me.”

Charlotte aspires to develop Takeaway Spa into a national service and is looking to recruit therapists in the near future to cover a wider area.
