THE PEOPLE of Prudhoe have given a warm welcome to a new business in the town centre.

All Seasons Independent Funeral Directors has recently opened its doors on Front Street.

The family-run business is owned by Alison and Ray Kinghorn from Belsay.

Ray is the fourth generation of his family to work as a funeral director, and between them the couple have 40 years of experience in the business.

The couple already run a successful branch of All Seasons Independent Funeral Directors in Newcastle.

Alison explained why they decided to expand their business in Prudhoe: “There isn’t another independent funeral directors in Prudhoe,” she said.

“It’s such a vast area and we felt people here needed to have an alternative to the big companies.

“The people of Prudhoe are amazing; they have been so friendly and have been popping into the office to welcome us to the town.”

The Prudhoe branch, at 80 Front Street, will be managed by employee John McCallum, alongside Alison and Ray.

All Seasons is available 24 hours a day and offers both traditional and bespoke packages.

Alison said: “We want to make the Prudhoe branch as inviting as possible. We want to integrate into the community.

“When someone rings, whether its 2pm or 2am, they will always speak to the same person. It means that the family has continuity from start to finish, and that’s really important when you suffer a bereavement.

“We always listen to the family’s wishes, whatever they want. If it’s legal, we will find a way to do it.”
