TYNEDALE Hospice at Home has appointed six new trustees to join its board, bringing to the organisation valuable experience from health, retail, business and education.

The hospice provides palliative nursing care to people in their own homes, family support services and a hospital transport service to people living in Tynedale, West Northumberland, Ponteland and the surrounding areas. It also has three shops – a charity and a book shop in Hexham and a charity shop in Ponteland.

The new trustees are: Gillian Charlton from Fourstones; Lee Coleman from Wooley, Louisa Deas from Corbridge; Elizabeth Harris from Acomb; John Harrison from Darras Hall and Janet Shucksmith from Stocksfield.

Anne Francis, chairman of the board of trustees, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new board members who have a fantastic range of skills. Their combination of experience across a number of sectors will really add value to the work of the hospice.”

She added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Diana Linnett and Peter Rodger who have stepped down from the board after many years of valuable service to the hospice.”
