A CORBRIDGE restaurant and cocktail bar has undergone a £25,000 refurbishment.

The walls of the historic town hall buildings on Princes Street, home to The Duck House, are now adorned with local artwork, while new lighting and window dressings showcase young entrepreneur Jack Lapping’s eye for interior design.

Jack, a managing partner in the venture which was launched in March last year, aims to offer healthy dishes influenced by British and international recipes in a menu which changes every three months to incorporate season ingredients.

“Since I started the business in 2015 we have grown from strength to strength; we now offer over 55 gins in our cocktail bar and operate in a fully-booked restaurant every week,” Jack said.

The restaurant is now being made available for local artists to exhibit their work and sell to the public, adding to the ambience of the venue.

The investment was secured via a microloan from the Finance for Business North East Microloan Fund, managed by Rivers Capital Partners.
