HEXHAM-based drinks company Fentimans is planning to further its success by exporting to even more countries.

The popular brand already directly exports its products to 66 countries, but wants to make exporting an even larger part of the business, aiming to reach more than 80 countries as part of its five-year plan.

Export sales director Piero Alberici said: “At the moment, export sales make up about a third of our revenue, and we want to develop that further so we are represented on every continent.

“We now have a dedicated website in Germany which is one of our largest export markets, but others will take time to build up to how well known we are here in the UK.

“Sometimes we even receive pictures of our products in far-flung places that we don’t export to, such as Zimbabwe and Kenya, so we know there is room for expansion.”

Fentimans has recently invested more than £500,000 in a new head office and production facilities at Fearless House.

Mr Alberici added: “We wanted to stay in the Hexham area because we have been here since the beginning. There are people who have worked for us for many years and we want to stay loyal to them.”
