AFTER enjoying a day packed with traditional countryside entertainment, visitors to tomorrow’s Border Shepherds’ Show at Falstone can party into the evening to live music.

For after the last of the produce has been auctioned and the final award-winning baker has held aloft their silver salver of victory, live music will be provided by the Smoking Gunns.

The well loved country band, which is set to take place from 9am tomorrow, will also include many of the traditional pursuits which have featured on its programme since 1885.

The annual sheep dog trials and amateur fell race will be as hotly contested as ever and the sheep section is anticipated to have a strong showing this year.

For smaller visitors a menagerie of exotic animals will be on display from Kirkley Hall and a series of competitive games will keep participants of all ages occupied.

The touring ‘Gallery of Wonder’s is also making a stop at Falstone to exhibit a collection of extraordinary art from nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon from the Ukulele Band and from 4.30pm Smoking Gunns will twang visitors into the evening.

Show secretary Gloria Armstrong said: “There’s lots to see and lots to do so plenty to look forward to at this year’s show.”
