A WEEKEND brimming with everything from folk and gypsy jazz to country and blues awaits those already snapping up tickets for this year's Bellingham All Acoustic Music Festival.

The North Tyne festival that prides itself on being small, intimate and very friendly will take place this year over the three days beginning September 4.

Paul Mason, one half of the Landermason folk duo who founded the festival, has been busy perfecting the sometimes whimsical, sometimes practical creations that certainly add character to the event.

The line-up for the weekend includes Pete Scott, Adrian Nation, Lesley Roley, The Seam, the Gilded Thieves, the Shoeshop Quartet, the Celia Bryce Band, Bella Gaffney, Generation Jones, Kitty Macfarlane, the Lindie Quartet, Reely Ceol and Five Men No Dog, among many others, and not forgetting the ever popular Student Concert on the Friday night with its solos, duos and local school groups.

The festival will take place at the old school site of Brownrigg Lodges and the 300 tickets available are on sale now. Weekend and day tickets can be purchased by ringing (01434) 221235 or online at www.baafest.co.uk

The festival kicks off with a fund raiser given by Landermason on the Thursday evening.
